Erica
Peachey graduated from Hull University with a B.Sc.(Hons)
in Psychology, specialising in Applied Animal Ethology. She
then went to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies,
as a Research Associate, to investigate the Behaviour Effects
of Spaying Bitches. She is a member of the Association of
Pet Behaviour Counsellors and Chairman of it’s selection
committee. She is also a member of the Association of Pet
Dog Trainers.
As a result of her own experiences with young children and
a house full of animals, Erica has furthered her interest
in children and pets, and how to ensure that everyone enjoys
living together.
Erica runs classes for pet dogs , aiming to teach owners and
dogs to have a better understanding of each other, to avoid
problems and to teach response to basic commands. The Good
Puppy Course and The Good Dog Course are unique to Erica.
These classes are based on the theory that prevention is not
only better than cure, it is more fun as well. These courses,
for pet dogs and their families, run throughout the year.
She also offers individual training sessions and rehabilitation
training.
Erica has written several booklets and books which have sold
world wide.
Erica has been involved
in many court cases where animals are at the centre of the
controversy. Her involvement as an expert witness has meant
that the court can gain information concerning the animal’s
behaviour which would not otherwise be available to them.

All behaviour
cases are referred to Erica through the client’s own Veterinary
Surgeon and close links with the Veterinary Surgeons are maintained.
She normally sees clients in their own homes. Her work is not limited
to dogs, she sees many cat behavioural problems.
Erica is regularly contacted by the media and has appeared in newspapers
and magazines and on radio and television. She gives talks, seminars
and courses at venues around the country and has spoken abroad at
conferences. Talks have been given to the general public, dog owners,
dog training instructors, veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons.
Erica is a Visiting Lecturer in
Animal Behaviour at Liverpool John Moores University.
